This was an image I captured a few years ago at the Gill Ranch here in California.

You mean we have to ride all over this high desert looking for snakey Corriente????

You better have a pocket full of horse cookies if you expect me to be out here all day working my butt off for you!

Here I go again.....

Getting ready for another 9 hour haul to Hot Creek Ranch.  Got new tires on the stock trailer, camper back on the one ton Ford, new tires on The Bus (groan), organizing horse tack-buckets-feed-first aid-etc for our trusty cayuses and a week of long hard days on the trail moving cattle to the home ranch.  Setting up the bus for the first time and that being quite fun to do - DARN I had to shop :)  New bedding, dishes, bowls, cutting boards, throw rugs, sofa covers......loving the results.  Of course, it will be dusty when I come home and I'll have to clean it all over again before we actually move in :(
But we're gonna be ready soon!
AND I will return with so much new ranch life photography!  I love riding and working cattle, love capturing my images, love editing them on the computer, and love putting them up on my blog and website.  Either I'm easy to please, love adventure, I'm crazy.... or all of the above.

My Main Man

The blur in the background is our grandson practicing sorting cattle.

Cows Rule

This pretty girl has been ear marked.  I love their big floppy ears myself.  She was a 'contestant' at the Californios 2010 in Reno, NV.

Cinchy Colt

Photograph taken in Skull Valley on a ranch covering several million acres.  Shelby is the working cowboy taking 'the ride'.
Too much to do!  I love never being bored.
I'm about to become an Motorhome Mama......altho I prefer to think of myself as The Bus Driver.....and I'm good!
I will miss the view from my desk window, and the pellet stove this winter.......nothing else.  Won't miss the leaky roof, drafty windows, cobwebs and dust that overun us....gonna LOVE the bus.  And I'll have a different pretty view of the ranch 'till come next year and the new house........gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
I'm enjoying being a part of Old Town Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Fine Art Center.  Love seeing my photography and fine art hanging like that.  Years of wondering if I should share my work with the public...and now I'm doing it.  ENJOY!
Another artist... a painter you might enjoy.....Ruth Andre, has a blog called A Painting Day.  She does small oil paintings of animals and they're wonderful. http://apaintingday.blogspot.com/
Well, I'm off to shop for fun stuff to put in the Bus.  Then gonna saddle up and ride!
Have a great day,
Vicki
